The plaintiff in this matter was attempting to merge onto Interstate 10 when the defendant illegally merged into our client’s lane of travel, causing our client’s vehicle to violently crash into the wall of the interstate. Liability was highly contested as both parties' versions of events contrasted in many respects. Our client had to undergo major back surgery. Although the plaintiff recovered well, he was unable to return to the same type of employment. The matter settled for $385,000.00. Attorney’s fees and litigation expenses totaled $152,212.70.
