Pride became a trial lawyer because he saw and understood that without good legal representation, good people don’t necessarily get treated fairly in legal disputes. In his over twenty years of practice, he has distinguished himself as an outstanding trial attorney and negotiator, and has built a strong reputation in, and out, of the courtroom.
A graduate of Tulane Law School, Pride has extensive experience in automobile and trucking claims, maritime and offshore litigation, industrial workplace injuries, and premises liability litigation. He has represented the interests of thousands of individuals, many to trial or alternative dispute resolution, and has been asked to lecture at several continuing legal education seminars on topics relevant to personal injury litigation in Louisiana, and elsewhere.
Pride has also represented businesses, property owners, and insurers in coverage, antitrust and commercial dispute matters.
Very active in several professional associations, Pride has been a member of the LSBA Section on Insurance, Negligence, Admiralty and Workers’ Compensation; the Louisiana Association for Justice Automobile Tort and Maritime Sections, and has previously served on that organization’s Board of Governors and as Chair of its Civil Rights Division.
Pride holds an “AV – Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubble®, which recognizes those with the highest levels of skill and integrity, based on confidential submissions by judges and other lawyers. In 2013, he became a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum®, which reserves membership to attorneys who have obtained seven (7) figure judgments, settlements, or verdicts, for their clients. Also, Pride has been a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum® and The Top Trial Lawyers in America®. He has been recognized by SuperLawyers for his courtroom accomplishments and is active in a number of community organizations and public service initiatives.
Pride is licensed to practice before all state courts in Louisiana and Texas, all federal courts in Louisiana, the Eastern District of Texas, the Southern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has also been admitted to handle serious matters in other states such as Washington, California, Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Most important, Pride and his lovely wife, Patience, have three children: Brandon, Basia, and Cailan, and two grandsons, Kaius and Cairo. The family resides in Opelousas, Louisiana.
